Brain Injury Top of the South and West Coast

We were established in 1995 and become a charitable organisation in 2008, offering support for the Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and West Coast regions, for those that are 1 of 100 New Zealanders affected by brain injury every day.

Today we provide liaison services to be sure that the brain injured, and their families get the best support possible and run support group meetings every week.

Our Story

People affected by brain injury are confronted with significant challenges…  How to navigate the health system and Accident Compensation Commission?  How to cope with daily life… transport, shopping, employers, education, etc.?  How to maintain relationships and avoid isolation? How to do all this when one’s brain function is likely to be significantly impaired?

Where can friends or family of people with brain injury get help?

Brain Injury Nelson covers Marlborough, Nelson, Tasman and the West Coast.  We exist to enable better lives for people affected by brain injury. Success is seeing them participate, connect and contribute.
